3-Day 2-Night Backcountry ATV Safari (Sample Itinerary)

Day One

8:00 a.m. Arrive bright and early to head off to our first location of riding. Once at the trail head your guide will discuss the plan for the trip, cover backcountry travel, and ATV safety. Today’s adventure will take you deep into the Tahetna Pass area. In the wide open divide area of Eureka, the miles will fly by as we explore the surrounding alpine tundra. This area features jeep trails winding through hills to gold mining claims. The possibilities are endless and the immensity is mind boggling. The day will be a great opportunity to view wildlife like Caribou and Ptarmigan, and get warmed up for the ATV excitement ahead.

Mid-day: We keep it simple and eat our lunch out on the trail, stopping for a break, and enjoying the scenery.

Afternoon: As our tanks near empty, we will make our way back to our lodge. With plenty of day light it will be easy to appreciate the views of the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains and the Matanuska Glacier Valley. Get cleaned up for dinner and conversation at our comfortable Alaskan lodge.

Day Two

Morning: We will introduce you to “Alaska time” and catch a hearty breakfast at our lodge while we prepare for the day. This day will bring you options such as whitewater rafting, flightseeing, glacier trekking, and/or ATVing. We will at least stop by the Matanuska Glacier for some photos.

Afternoon: Depending on your comfort level we will choose from three incredible options. Riding the Puritian Trail, Kings River, or Eska falls. This will be one of our more technical days of riding. In the evening we will return to the Palmer area for dinner and the comforts of an Alaskan B&B.

Day Three

No ATV trip to Alaska is complete without a ride in our favorite riding area. Featured in Dirt Rider Magazine and on the Outdoor Life Network and Fishers ATV World, many of our clients visit Alaska just for this unique day trip. Ride the maze of trails, deep water, sand dunes, and wide open flats on the way to the face of the massive Knik Glacier. Perhaps enjoy a night on the town, before saying goodbye until your next adventure with Alaska All Terrain Center.
